Bruce Mentzer

FOUNDEr & Farmer

Following 50 years on the East Coast, Bruce Mentzer moved to Sonoma County and literally dug in. Lovers of all things seed, garden and barnyard, he and his husband bought a small property in Healdsburg CA to set up this not-for-profit farm. The need to add local organically grown vegetables to the diets of those in need in Sonoma County led Bruce and Anthony to start Farm to Fight Hunger. Bruce also cares deeply about the health of the Earth and the source of all life, the soil. He recently completed his Sustainable Agriculture degree at the SRJC and is currently on the board of Farm to Pantry, the local gleaning organization that harvests, packages and delivers the farms produce.

Anthony Solar

FOUNDEr & chicken whisperer

Anthony’s background in the grocery industry, and his degree in Culinary Arts, have helped fuel his love of quality food and his appreciation of the need to provide healthy food for all. Anthony loves chickens and runs the pastured poultry portion of Farm to Fight Hunger. All of the eggs are donated to the local food organizations to provide a quality organic source of protein to our neighbors in need.
